Eczema – Atopic Eczema


eczema cureEczema is a skin related disease with persistent skin circumstances. Skin rashes and reddish color of skin is very common in Eczema. Crusting and itching, oozing and sometimes bleeding also occur in Eczema. Swelling is the most important characteristic of the disease which can be seen every time in Eczema. Various synonyms are also used to describe the disease and each has their own conditions and treatment ways. There are many types of Eczema few of which are very popular and common while other are not that much common. Some of the most common types of Eczema include Atopic eczema, contact dermatitis, Xerotic eczema, Seborrhoeic dermatitis. There are various other less common types as well.

Atopic Eczema:

Atopic eczema is one of the most common and popular types of eczema. It causes itchy and dry skin with rashes. These rashes and swelling conditions require constant daily care. The atopic eczema is most often observed in children of age 5 or less. Other names which are used for the atopic eczema are dermatitis and simply eczema.

Symptoms of Atopic Eczema:

Atopic eczema or simply eczema is the most common type of eczema with various signs and symptoms. Some of these symptoms are as follows:

1. Itchy Skin:
The skin gets extremely itchy in eczema and the child of the adult is completely unable to rest and relax. Face and scalp are the mostly targeted areas of children where red patches of atopic eczema can be observed.

2. Rash:
Rash is another very popular and common symptom of eczema. Rash is a consequent of scratching and itchy area of the body. Rubbing of a patched skin can also result in this but this is not always the case. As a consequent of rash, skin can also crack and weep out fluid.

3. Swelling:
The patches or areas where the disease has targeted can also swell badly. In fact the areas get bubbled up to a greater extent and it appears very dangerous. If proper care is not taken immediately, the skin may bubble up even more and can result in dangerous circumstances of weeping out clear fluid and much more.

Population Density:

It is estimated that around 15% of the people get this atopic eczema disease. Though the percentage is not very strict, it varies from one location to other and from one age group to other. As also stated earlier, the disease get mostly in children below 5 years.

What should be done?

Whatever symptoms you recognize in your child or in yourself, you should immediately consult the doctor. Not showing yourself to doctor can result in some serious circumstances which can become long lasting and dangerous for whole of your life.
